The Commonwealth Graduate Engineering Program allows students seven years to complete their studies for a degree.  This is counted from your first course.  In some circumstances it may be possible to be granted additional time, by petitioning the Graduate Committee.

During your final semester, you should contact the Graduate Studies office (Tammy Ramsey, twr2c@virginia.edu, 434-924-3897) and begin the process for your graduation.  You will be registered as a Non-Resident during the final semester and pay the appropriate fee. 

The following forms are required prior to graduation:

Plan of Study, form G101 - Only courses on an approved Plan of Study will be accepted toward the Master of Engineering degree.   See additional information pertaining to requirements for the ME Degree as published in the Graduate Record.

Transfer of Graduate Course, form G112 - Courses taken from CGEP institutions can be transferred in if a C or better. These courses are manually figured in the GPA. Courses taken from non-CGEP institutions must be a B or better. The credits count towards total credits, but the grades are not computed in the GPA.

Application for Graduate Degree, form G113 - Must be submitted prior to the above deadline.
