About Your UVa Email
Setting up a UVa Email account requires you to:
- Obtain your UVa Computing ID
- Obtain your UVa System Generated Password
- Establish a UVa Gmail account
Whenever you are presented with a Netbadge Login Page you will use your Computing ID and System Generated Password.
You will need your UVa Computing ID and Password for the following:
- To use the new Student Information System (SIS)
- To use UVa Collab
- Various other electronic resources
This is what will happen and what you need to do
When your registration is complete an email will be sent to you from the new Student System (SIS).
This email will instruct you to go to: http://whois.virginia.edu/scps/
Be sure to set aside a time when you can follow carefully the instructions on that page and subsequent pages. Also be sure to complete all the steps, so that you not only secure your System Generated Password but also get your email account completely established and registered.
IMPORTANT: Be sure to record the System Generated Password accurately (passwords are case sensitive), be sure to set it aside in a place where you can easily find it in the future. If you ever forget your Password you can return to http://whois.virginia.edu/scps and recover it.
